Welcome to Acps

The Arizona Center for Psychoanalytic Studies (ACPS) is a not-for-profit educational institution that provides training in psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. ACPS also offers continuing education programs for members of the mental health community, and promotes dialogue with colleagues in the humanities, fine arts, and social sciences. ACPS engenders an open, supportive and stimulating environment that fosters creativity, independent thinking and personal growth.

Dear Community,

As increasing numbers of Americans are testing positive for the coronavirus public health officials are recommending that people take precautions, such as limiting travel and avoiding large crowds and gatherings.  The March speaker is traveling from Detroit and we expect a good number of attendees at the event.  In the interest of health and safety the decision was made to cancel the March 28th presentation.  All checks or credit card registration payments which have already been sent in will be destroyed, unless I’m otherwise notified.  Plans are being made to reschedule the event next spring.  We are very sorry that we are not able to go ahead with the presentation at this time but feel that cancellation is the best course of action.

SPS has announced that Dr. Abbasi’s presentation has been rescheduled for March 20, 2021.  Details will be provided early next year.

Warm Regards,

Helene Barab, PhD
Tucson Program Chair
